Note: We usually require upfront payment for our services. For larger jobs, we can accept half up front and the remaining half before the work is returned. We accept payment via PayPal.

Service Rates

Proofreading - $5.00/per page: This is the easiest type of editing. Proofreading is about getting rid of the cosmetic errors. It is usually the last step in the writing/editing process. It’s not meant to be comprehensive; proofreading does not involve re-working text or re-arranging content. Proofreading is about doing a last run-through to catch surface problems with content. Marketing and business flyers fall into this service category.

Copyediting - $8.00/per page: Copyediting is about improving style, formatting, and accuracy. This type of editing is about ensuring there are no inconsistencies, the style flows well, and the writing is grammatically correct.

Content editing - $10.00/per page: This work is much more intensive. Content editing covers all of the skills of proofreading and copyediting. Content editing may also require adding things that were left out or re-writing sections of content in order to improve the quality of the work.

Manuscript Appraisal: This service is an assessment that gives the writer an objective perspective on the first three chapters (not to exceed 50 pages) of their manuscript. The appraisal focuses on the manuscript's structural strengths and weaknesses. Constructive and detailed feedback is provided upon completion. The cost for this is $100.00.
According to publishing industry standards, a “page” is comprised of the following components: double-spaced, 1-inch margins, 12-point font (Arial or Times New Roman), and no extra line spaces after paragraphs, chapter headings, headings, subheadings, or chapter breaks. The average “page” will contain between 250 and 300 words.​
